Getting into RSS again
I’ve recently moved away from Substack to get into a more chill blogging experience. I’m loving using Bearblog. It’s exactly what I had in mind.
Getting my own domain and learning CSS and Markdown are a very fun bonus.
Bearblogs kind of rely on RSS for subscription/following. It also supports email subscriptions, but I feel like it leans into more minimalist approaches.
I decided to give RSS another try. I haven’t used my Inoreader account since... I don’t know. Ages.
I logged into it, cleaned up my subscriptions, and transferred the Substack newsletters I still read into it. I’m now unsubscribing my email from them to further move away from Substack.
This is my RPG folder so far:

Still some ways to go, especially now that I’m finding a lot of cool Bearblogs and sites on the webring I joined, Rootring.
I have to say, RSS is fun, clean, and simple. I’m reading blogs like it’s 2008.
